You might be thinking, “OMG, why is she bald!?”
Or maybe, “What has she been through? Why is she doing embroidery now?”
Well, being bald is my choice (hair feels weird to me). 😅
But the rest of the story?
Let me fill you in.
43 years ago I was having many problems with my bladder, bowels, and kidneys. I was in a world of pain and sometimes I wasn’t listened to. Most of the time I wasn’t taken very seriously.
I started having bladder, bowel, and kidney problems around age 3. Had my appendix out at age 5. Because I couldn’t control my bladder very well, I was picked on quite a bit throughout my school years.
By 10 years old I was diagnosed with Henoch-Schonlein Purpura, which is inflammation of the blood vessels in the skin, mucous membranes, joints, bowels, and kidneys. It can also cause joint and abdominal pains.
At 12 years old, I was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis after they found ulcers lining my bladder wall.
By 15 years old, I couldn’t walk more than 3 steps.
In January of 1995, I got my pouch, which is called an Urinary Koch Pouch. It’s an “old school” type that sits inside my body, instead of on the outside.
The following year, I contracted an internal infection that went undetected for a while. It left me fighting for my life in the hospital, and I actually coded on the OR table.
I’m very thankful that they were able to bring me back.
Since then, I’ve gone through 5 major abdominal surgeries and over 100 day surgeries. I’ve fought for my life and continue to fight every day.
Since I’ve had my Urinary Koch Pouch for more than 30 years now, the Canadian Ostomy Association holds a special place in my heart; and I’m proud to be a supporter and Ambassador for young children and adults who have pouches.
All this to say, I’m a very empathetic person. Maybe even to a fault. But I believe that this ability allows me to create beautiful and meaningful embroidery art pieces that tell a story.
Your story. Our stories.
Because I believe storytelling is the root of our lives. I believe that everyone deserves to tell their story and be heard. Building friendships and relationships.
And that’s what I love the most about my business — the story behind the embroidery and the people I meet along the way.
And at Mad Melodie Kreations, we take pride in doing embroidery differently.
Backed by 20 years of experience in the industry, we keep a close eye on market trends and conduct business with a rock-solid Code of Ethics:

The Ostomy Canada Youth Camp is a week-long, transformational camp for children and youths ages 9 to 18 in July of every year.
Nestled in the Rocky Mountains in Bragg Creek, Alberta, this camp is led by a dedicated team of Ostomy Canada Society staff, volunteers, and medical professionals, whose goal is to provide a fun-filled and educational experience for each youth that attends.
Because having a medical condition as a child/youth can be extremely isolating, this camp specifically focuses on building friendships, life-long memories, independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
There is also a strong focus on medical hygiene, such as stoma care and other ostomy-related needs.
The Ostomy Canada Youth Camp holds a special place in my heart, as I was sponsored to attend this camp shortly after receiving my Urinary Koch Pouch in 1995.
This camp changed how I was living, my outlook on life, and how to accept and move forward with my ostomy.
Even though the camp is only a week-long, the impact lasts a lifetime.
At Mad Melodie Kreations, we aim to support youths attending this camp by donating up to 15% of our profits to the Ostomy Canada Youth Camp.
You can feel good knowing that your purchase helps to sponsor a youth to attend!
If you’d like to donate a little extra, or the full amount of sponsorship ($1250 per camper, not including flights), follow the link below to donate today.
Let’s send a child to camp! ♥️

We start every project with a design consultation to understand your vision and goals. We will work with you to create a custom design that tells your story.
Once we have your design, we digitize it to create a file that can be read by our embroidery machines. This process ensures that your design is translated into a high-quality embroidery pattern.
After digitizing, we move into production. We use top-of-the-line machines to create your custom embroidery design on the material of your choice.

Embroidery fields can range from less than .50 inch up to 15 15-inchinch square, depending on the design.
If the design is heavily detailed, usually, the larger the design the better
Each article of clothing requires different digitizing. Letting us know the clothing type will help us digitize accordingly, which helps production run smoothly.
Denser designs will have limitations on size and the article of clothing you would like it on.
We do not sell undecorated garments at this time.
It is helpful for us to know what type of material we are embroidering to account for things like the number of stitches required, the best type of thread to use, and the use of underlay.
Even though a design may already be in a digital format, we need to digitize the design you’ve provided.
Digitizing means that we run the design through a special program to create a file that can be read by the embroidery machines. This ensures that your design prints properly onto the garments, and that the colours, sizing, and fonts are correct.
Our standard, flat rate set-up/digitizing fee is $50 per design.
If you would like the same design on multiple items, you will only have to pay one digitizing fee.
A set-up fee applies for each design ordered (for example: if you are ordering two t-shirts with two different designs, you will have to pay two set-up fees.)
The good news is that once a design has been digitized, you won’t have to pay that fee again. So you can order as many products as you’d like with that design and only pay for it once!
Preferred digital formats are PDF, JPEG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, and Vector.
All designs need to be digitized in-house to control the quality of the work. No outside digitized file will be accepted, including but not limited to:
Yes, we can match Pantone colours!
